Sorry Peeps

 It's been crazy, it's been busy. And it's finally almost over. I just have to move the 5th wheel and I'm done moving. Then life can move forward onto a new routine. {Back to blogging/work/life}

Today I relocated my horses. It was so beautiful to see them running with a herd. StarBright protects Lil Star and they stick together. Polaris had to go in with the boys, he's still 'potent' and can get a mare pregnant. {3 months after being gelded, the Vet said}. They nuzzled at the fence and know they are close to each other. I'm nervous, probably won't sleep much, with it being their first night in the new place. I'll probably get there early. I did warn them I come for breakfast. The feeding schedule is going to be an adjustment for them, I'm still working out the kinks.

I had to wait for the washer and dryer to be delivered this morning. Don't you just love waiting when you have so many things to do.? Like the wait wasn't long enough. A week no, 8 days after ordering. {Website said 2-3}. Hubby got an email asking how he liked his new appliances and he had to tell them he was still waiting. Hmmmm, funny how the store called right away to schedule delivery. They finally arrived today! This morning, well, noon. And {are you ready?} They brought me 2 dryers and no washer. So the wait had to continue. Mind you they were quick to get back the second time.

I had to leave and go haul the horses to their new home. Laundry has to wait. I'm really glad I ended up completely moving instead of leaving them behind until spring. Their new home is so horse cool! {If you know horses, you know what that means.} And for those that don't -

Horse cool! is rolling pastures and big giant trees for shelter and shade with big pools of water and many other horses.

Their natural environment. - Horse Cool!

I spend quite a while with my babies, then went onto deliver the last of the ducks to his new home.

Yep, all the chickens and ducks went to new homes, and some pretty amazing homes too. The Lord really answered prayers last week for me, I think I owe Him for over time. I did not want to take them to the 'auction' or anywhere that wasn't a good home.

It's almost done. Sorry peeps, I haven't forgotten you!,  it's just been a long haul ~

Moments make Memories.

I bought my daughter a kennel for their puppy, to help give him a space and my Great Grandson thinks it's the greatest place to play!

Bought this cute little dog house on line, of course I really didn't look at the exact specs... My plan was a Duck house for 2 ducks.. Turns out my dog has to duck to get in it and the only thing that fits comfortably is the cats...

I just thought I throw in an update on Polaris, isn't he looking so good!.. He's getting quite tall too. Such a sweet boy!

Here it is, you can see for yourself. Lil Star is coming along nicely with her training. Yep, that's her new little bridal she's sporting. 3 steps closer to a 'rider'!

Life is all about the moments that make the memories. Enjoy yours!!

Milestones

The Bright side of the Barn has hit a few milestones here in 2020.

We've had Over 20,000 visitors this year.

One post had over 4,000 hits in a single day. And it's still running as most popular.

A bit Ironic, that my birthday and my 200th post should fall on the same day.

No, I'm not turning 200. Although, there are days that it feels like it's been that long. I have often wondered what it would have been like to live 900, 700 or even 200 years.

Birthdays.

I always feel older when one of my kids or grandkids have a birthday.

Mine have been difficult most of my life. Hard to celebrate.

However in recent years I've taken a new look at things and they have become more bearable. With each year actually getting a bit better than the previous.

Strangely enough, the more bearable they become the greater they become...

This year. Brand new house.

20 year dream.

Another major milestone in life, to finally be home at last!

Burn the boxes, I'm not moving again.

IT's DONE... At least Part 1

Long weekend, yet, it went really fast!

Once we got the keys, it was like being in a daze.....

Everything is officially out of the 5th wheel and at the house. Yep, the process of moving is done. At least the moving part. Busy weekend and man am I sore!

6 miles from the barn to my new house. Didn't have to refuel once.

Fortunately for me, I unpack as I move in, so most of the unpacking is already done as well. We decided since it's a brand new house, we wanted to buy new on a lot of things, so there wasn't as much packing as there was unpacking.

Living in the 5th wheel, which comes preloaded with furniture. Left me with no furniture to move... Thankfully.

So, we have a big empty livingroom. LOL.

Which doesn't bother either of us at this moment. There's beds and everything we need in the kitchen.!

Coffee pot is plugged in and running.

Now comes all the afterwards work.

The yuck stuff...

- Cleaning the 5th wheel, and finding a storage, then having it moved. {We've also decided it's for sale, should anyone be interested.}

- Getting the truck moved.

- Finding homes for the chickens and ducks....

Then on to the fun stuff..

- Buying furniture, washer and dryer for sure!!

- Lots of yard work. My favorite part!!!!!

.... At least PART 1 is done,

so for tonight, we'll rest and absorb in the feeling of completion....

Cozy! Sweet,
Good night.

US - is changing.

In the beginning it was "A little about us".

After the adoption of 2 horses out, and the passing of another, US changed. Then the goats moved on to a truly 'goat loving' family.

Then it was the NEW - US , which became the horses, chickens and ducks.

Now ~ US is changing again.

Life has been blessed and once again, God has given me a dream come true. That being a brand new, never lived in - module home. Budget limited us to a park rather than on acreage so adjustments have to be made.

Originally when I told my landlord of the news, {That I'd be moving out of my 5th wheel} BUT, I wanted to keep the animals here and store my trailer...

Originally that was the acceptable plan til spring.

Now in the month of processing buying a house...... still waiting for keys. The plans have changed a few times {I'm struggling to keep up}.

It seems I need to find storage for my "totalled truck from the accident" and for my 5th wheel trailer. I am supposed to be moving the chickens and the ducks to the 'outback' and they want me to trade horse pastures.......

I've spent 3 years fixing and seeding and weeding the pastures I have and don't really want to put my horses in the weeds to start over again. Where they want me to put the chickens and ducks, I fear will put them in danger of predators.

So, US - is changing again.

I'm looking to rehome, 3 pairs of ducks. The gray runners are nesting with about 10 eggs. The Black Swedish are laying and the White Crested lays every 2-3 days.

I have 2 small flocks of chickens 8 red {4 Road Island and 4 Golden Buff} that lay large brown & tan eggs; and a variety of 10 'easter eggers' that lay a multiple variety of eggs in blue, green, white, tan, brown and occasionally pink.

I would rather rehome my chickens and ducks than have them attacked by predators. So if you know anyone local that's looking for poultry....

My prayers are to find them homes relatively soon, so I can not worry about them once I finally get keys and move to the house.

The horses are stationary for now..... StarBright, Lil Star and Polaris are with me forever.

The 3 cats, Gizmo, Cleo and Miss MoJo as well as Miss Sophia - will all be moving into the new house..... and I can't wait til they see it. So many windows and so much room to run. Plus, Sophia will have her own little back yard.

All my chickens and ducks are tame and have been handled since birth. The ducks come for "Here Duck Duck", quite a sight to have ducks following you around. The chickens are used to grazing and go in on the perch for the night.

Work in this new 'normal'

I have what is called a disability. Actually a couple of them. Work for me has had to change from my normal. Now with the virus, we've all had to change our normals. Many have had to find new work. While on my quest to find an employment that works with my disabilities and the conditions of the virus....

I found NOTARY PUBLIC services going to the location ~ to be a perfect fit for me. By going to where the clients meet, social distancing and 'less' people in the 'office' works out better for everyone to help prevent the spread of the virus.

I've been dabbling in some freelance copy writing. Advertising isn't really my thing. So, please don't contact me if your looking for a new commercial. However, If you need research or an article written, give me a shout. I've been getting good reviews on the work I've done so far and I enjoy the research and learning about new things for myself.

I am still a Herbalife distributor, I love Herbalife products and I encourage folks to visit the link and shop directly from my website. I'm not doing personal orders at this time, again - due to the virus. Direct ship is really the best way to get your products. Fast and efficient.

How has work changed in your world?
