Pack it Up ~ The Final Move

Looking for Senior housing communities! It's time for the last move. I will be 60 this year. God has blessed me to surpass all the doctors expectations and make it this far. I hope to go at least another 40.

With my brothers both suddenly passing last fall, just a few months apart, it has shaken my plans. My brother and I talked daily, 'still being here' was a goal we were grateful for every day. And now he's gone. He went somewhat fast. Just a couple weeks before Christmas he stopped the daily texts. Just before the New Year he went into the hospital and passed on the 6th of January.

Tim's health has been a challenge and now the heart doctors are involved. More prescriptions and more appointments.... He's Birthday is coming up in February, he's not getting any younger either.

It's time to simplify lives. I'm hoping to help him sell the house and get moved into a mobile home community closer to where his son lives. Perhaps that will help bring them 'closer' together for the next few years. His last few years. Plus it would be nice to get closer to the doctor appointments since there are so many now.

Me - I've downsized everything I owned. Sold off things that I really didn't want to move again. Lost my storage a while back when I had to leave the RV so I've taken advantage of the spare room, to save on monthly expenses for me.

The kids and grandkids are all getting to the place that they don't need me to watch the kids so much anymore, and I've been more busy helping Tim get transformed into retirement, and now hopefully retired living. I'm hoping my next transition gets me to a place where I get to spend more time with my horse.

Star Bright has been lingering at the gate when I'm leaving the past few days. The weather is beautiful today {For the end of January weather} I'm hoping to go out and give her a good brush out, graze on the fresh grass while I do it. She loves to roll in the mud, so she's been looking pretty scrub lately.

I don't know yet if she's going to be moving too. It really depends on where I end up. If the distance to where she is - is within reason, she'll stay at the paradise that she's at. If not, I'll have to look for something that will work that is closer.

One step at a time....

  • House listed for sale.
  • Everything packed to a minimal use status.
  • Deep clean and minor 'touch up' repairs, inside and out.
  • Showings - Social media ads - Sharing -Advertise!!
  • Sell house!
  • Storage and moving truck.
  • Pet Friendly hotel, while paying bills and searching for house.
  • Find house to buy, place to live
  • Close deal and start moving!

Buddy ~ UP for Adoption

 Hi, My name is BUDDY. {A701388}

I'm still a little shy and need a bit of time to adjust to new things. I'm currently living in a foster home with many other fur babies and hoomans of all ages come to visit. I am learning how to go outside when I need to go potty, and I'm learning about other dogs and cats! I'm really smart and learn things quickly. I love to play with the others fur babies and my toys. Being a baby I still need my naps especially when I can cuddle. I do get the zoomies especially right after I come in from being outside. PS, I love it outside playing with my hoomans. Exploring all the things that move, and the noises.

I'm almost ready to go in for my surgery and I will be available for adoption right after!! You can go to the RASKC website and find out all about the adoption process.

My kennel number is {A701388}.

Standing Alone

It's felt the same throughout life.

My brother was the only one who understood.

Now there is no one left to talk to

- that understands.

No one that knows,

no explanation needed.

He was my Hero growing up, 12 years my senior.

He was the one who would go looking for me the many times I was lost when I was a little one, too young for school. He would put me on the back of his girlfriends horse when she'd come to visit. I'd spend half a day in the front yard on her horse while they hung out on the porch. He's the one who would stay with me when my parents went out of town. Took care of me when I was sick. Taught me to play the guitar. Followed me to the corner store, when I thought I was getting to go by myself. Stuck up for me when the bullies tried beating me up. Came looking for me after school if I'd missed the bus and was walking home. He stood between me and mom so many times. He helped me take the ponies back after my friend was stepped on and had to go in the ambulance.

I got lost a lot as a kid and had a few mishaps.

Once he was an adult - he spend most of his life living with or just houses away from my parents, helping them and looking after me and my other brother. He always sacrificed himself for the family. We spent a summer together in Montana during my teen years. Memories I will never forget. A lot of Krusties pancake mix and fresh fish! Time together. He took care of my parents to the end. Took care of my other brother until he passed just a few months ago.

Somehow in the middle of it all, he had his own life - he found enough heart to adopt a daughter and for the last 26 years - she too was his world. He spent the last few years enjoying and getting to know his granddaughter, while watching his daughter turn into a beautiful young woman and wonderful mother. She is One with the same giving heart he had. She cared for him the last few years as he grew frail. She was by his side when he passed. The love they have for each other is so beautiful. We should all be so lucky to be so loved.

I've never known a more giving person in all my life. He was my hero.
