Please WAKE UP AMERICA

A friend shared this with me, as her friend shared it with her.... and we all would like to share it with you and may you feel free to share it with your friends and family.

Please America, wake up!!

"You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner, by pulling the payer wage down. You cannot further brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage, by taking away peoples initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." Abraham Lincoln

THIS WAS HIS ENTIRE QUOTE:  A sobering reminder.  Almost exactly sixty years ago since Russia’s Khrushchev delivered his message.

Do you remember September 29, 1959?  THIS WAS HIS ENTIRE

QUOTE
:

"Your children's children will live under communism, You Americans are so gullible.  No, you won't accept communism outright; but we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have Communism.  We will

not have to fight you; We will so weaken your economy, until you will fall like overripe fruit into our hands."  "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Do you remember what Russia's Khrushchev said in 1959?

Rember, socialism leads to Communism. So,how do you create a Socialistic State?

There are 8 levels of control; read the following recipe:

(1) Healthcare - Control healthcare and you control the people.

2) Poverty - Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and

will not fight back if you are providing everything for them.

3) Debt - Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and

this will produce more poverty.
(4) Gun Control - Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare - Take control of every aspect (food, housing, income) of their lives because that will make them fully dependent on the governmen6) Education - Take control of what people read and listen to and take control of what children learn in school.

(7) Religion - Remove the belief in God from the Government and schools because the people need to believe in ONLY the government knowing what is best for the people.

8) Class Warfare - Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. Eliminate the middle class This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to tax the wealthy with the support of the poor

HOPE YOU’LL PASS THIS ALONG

CDC Advice Halloween 2020

Reposted from the CDC website for information purposes.

Halloween 2020

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html

Wear masks

  • Wear a mask at all times when around people who don’t live in your household to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
  • Avoid singing, chanting, or shouting, especially when not wearing a mask and within 6 feet of others.
Do not use costume masks in place of cloth masks
  • Do not use a costume mask (such as for Halloween) as a substitute for a cloth mask unless it is made of two or more layers of breathable fabric that covers your mouth and nose and doesn’t leave gaps around your face.Do not wear a costume mask over a cloth mask because it can be dangerous if the costume mask makes it hard to breathe. Instead, consider using a Halloween-themed cloth mask.
**

Halloween

Many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading viruses. There are several safer, alternative ways to participate in Halloween. If you may have COVID-19 or you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should not participate in in-person Halloween festivities and should not give out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Lower risk activities

These lower risk activities can be safe alternatives:

  • Carving or decorating pumpkins with members of your household and displaying them
  • Carving or decorating pumpkins outside, at a safe distance, with neighbors or friends
  • Decorating your house, apartment, or living space
  • Doing a Halloween scavenger hunt where children are given lists of Halloween-themed things to look for while they walk outdoors from house to house admiring Halloween decorations at a distance
  • Having a virtual Halloween costume contest
  • Having a Halloween movie night with people you live with
  • Having a scavenger hunt-style trick-or-treat search with your household members in or around your home rather than going house to house
Moderate risk activities
  • Participating in one-way trick-or-treating where individually wrapped goodie bags are lined up for families to grab and go while continuing to social distance (such as at the end of a driveway or at the edge of a yard)
    • If you are preparing goodie bags, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 second before and after preparing the bags.
  • Having a small group, outdoor, open-air costume parade where people are distanced more than 6 feet apart
  • Attending a costume party held outdoors where protective masks are used and people can remain more than 6 feet apart
    • A costume mask (such as for Halloween) is not a substitute for a cloth mask. A costume mask should not be used unless it is made of two or more layers of breathable fabric that covers the mouth and nose and doesn’t leave gaps around the face.
    • Do not wear a costume mask over a protective cloth mask because it can be dangerous if the costume mask makes it hard to breathe. Instead, consider using a Halloween-themed cloth mask.
  • Going to an open-air, one-way, walk-through haunted forest where appropriate mask use is enforced, and people can remain more than 6 feet apart
    • If screaming will likely occur, greater distancing is advised. The greater the distance, the lower the risk of spreading a respiratory virus.
  • Visiting pumpkin patches or orchards where people use hand sanitizer before touching pumpkins or picking apples, wearing masks is encouraged or enforced, and people are able to maintain social distancing
  • Having an outdoor Halloween movie night with local family friends with people spaced at least 6 feet apart
    • If screaming will likely occur, greater distancing is advised. The greater the distance, the lower the risk of spreading a respiratory virus.
    • Lower your risk by following CDC’s recommendations on hosting gatherings or cook-outs.
Higher risk activities

Avoid these higher risk activities to help prevent the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19:

  • Participating in traditional trick-or-treating where treats are handed to children who go door to door
  • Having trunk-or-treat where treats are handed out from trunks of cars lined up in large parking lots
  • Attending crowded costume parties held indoors
  • Going to an indoor haunted house where people may be crowded together and screaming
  • Going on hayrides or tractor rides with people who are not in your household
  • Using alcohol or drugs, which can cloud judgement and increase risky behaviors
  • Traveling to a rural fall festival that is not in your community if you live in an area with community spread of COVID-19

Getting back to the Roots

Growing up, I had incredibly long blonde hair. It was the one thing my mother REFUSED to cut. For me, it was a head ache in more ways than one. I really didn't like having incredibly long hair.

Somewhere around my pre-teens, I took to a pair of scissors and cut a couple feet off, yep 24". If I would have only taken a foot she probably wouldn't have noticed. She was furious and of course I was in trouble?

A couple years later I found the scissors again and took another couple feet off. Still long, but way shorter than it was.... I was much happier.

One very pissed off mother... Yep, in trouble again.

Eventually I moved out, married and started having kids.

After having babies and not appreciating my hair being pulled, I found the scissors and went for super short.

That pissed the hubby off, so I went for broke and practically shaved it all.  With the exception of the tail....

Over the course of years... The tail grew and has been completely cut off at least 3 times, only to have it grow back. My hair cutting was a continual ongoing part of my self care routine, as regular as the clay mask and salt soaks.. Flippy's cut daily.

Compliments came in many forms and from many people. My hair....

Many times I was asked where I go to have it cut?.
No joke, people across the intersection would point at their hair then mine and give me a thumbs up?
A lady once followed me in the store to approach me and ask who cuts it...
Too many times, I heard "nice hair" by those passing by.
It was a bit crazy. I never thought of it as anything more than my hair and cutting it the way I wanted it to look.

So a couple months ago..... I cut off the tail and threw away my hair cutting scissors.......

And for a couple months my hair has been driving me straight up nuts. I've not bought hair spray or even trimmed one flippy......

Did I mention it's driving me nuts.

The deal is, I had always promised my mother that I would someday let it grow back. She argued with me that I never would. She's passed now. I'm 56. I thought to myself recently, that I better start letting it grow or she's going to be right.

Now the relationship between myself and my mother, clearly cannot let her be right about this one. So, my hair continues to grow and drive me nuts.

At some point it will be long enough to cut and straighten out, getting rid of the flippy's without taking away from the length..

The things we use to motivate ourselves?

Go Vote!!

For those mailing in ballots, take em to a drop box instead and do it early, make sure your voice is heard in the election this year.

They say you can mail in a ballot right up to election day. But really, do you think those votes get counted in the end?

For the first time in my lifetime, the country has been running like a business that's owned by it's employees.

And it was good until the virus.

Even now, somehow in the midst of a virus, we have gotten to here where we are starting to rebuild ourselves in a new path, taking our country into a new way of living.

Leave it to AMERICAN'S  to turn "wearing masks" into FASHION!!

Face Mask Scrunchie Pet Bandana Set

So let your voice be heard in style, VOTE! 2020.

True Colors & Real People

You can usually feel within your guts, if someone is being honest or true. A persons actions can be an obvious image of their character. Then of course there is the way people think.

People truly give themselves away and show their true colors by the way they think - that - Other people think.

Thieves will be worried about getting ripped off,

simply because it's how they think, and most ignorant people, think that everyone thinks like they do.

Most two faced people, think that everyone will double cross them, simply because they double cross everyone every chance they get.

Ever had someone talk and bash someone else that you both know. Then wonder how they talk about you when they are with that person and your not around?

Pay attention to people's behavior and actions. People truly do, show their true colors with their actions and their words.

If someone's worried that your going to burn down their house, it's probably because they want to burn down yours.

Some folks take you for who you are, and accept you for who you are.
Real people tend to attract real people and can see through the fake pretty quickly. Good people don't usually like hanging around people that like to cause trouble. ...

The older you get, the more you figure people out. And then, there is always someone that's going to do something to make you say ~

"I thought I had seen it all".

Know who your friends are. & remember, You attract what you project.

Trick or Treat? a thing of the past.

The rain had ice in it Friday morning and you could smell the snow. It's getting so cold outside. I do believe it is colder than last fall this time. Although I do recall Halloween being a miserable night last year.

I'm wondering if there will be any trick or treating? ole school.

In the past few years the traditions have died in many ways. Less people decorated, or participated in handing out candy. The evils out there were starting to outweigh the good, many tragic stories filled the news the following mornings.

For safety reasons, many folks had already changed things up to some sort of 'trunk or treat'? I never did totally catch on to that one. Churches held parties and malls were promoting a way of cashing in on the treating. The good ole door to door, has been dying.

And now we have a virus that has everyone wearing masks all the time. Who wants to put on a mask for Halloween. What's the point of make up if you have to put the mask over it, and social distancing is going to be interesting......

You know you're old if you remember 'popcorn balls' and 'candy apples' being handed out. Or being invited in for hot cocoa if they had run out of candy.... How about the days of using a pillow case to collect your candy and having to go home and get a second one, because the first one was getting too heavy.

I remember getting so much candy one year, I still had candy the following Halloween. {my mom made me toss it out before I could go trick or treating}

What will 2020 bring? Is it time to rethink the celebration?

I've heard rumors that some places are not going to allow trick or treating and you could be fined? I've heard other places talk about creating shoots to send the candy out to the street so kids don't have to come up on the porches.

There isn't very many yards decorated this year so far. . I guess we'll see what the night brings.

Wishlist

Hard to believe Halloween is almost here. The weather has gotten quite cold quite fast! Ice rain this morning. Makes you realize that Christmas is approaching fast.

I think I need picture frames for Christmas...

This is way to easy to order prints and the 8x10's are gorgeous! The cost is pretty reasonable too. My newest discovery has been found while going through my pictures.

It's been a series of adjustments since moving to the house and moving away from the horses. I do miss being able to walk out the door and into the barn. I really miss hearing Star Bright as soon as I wake up in the mornings.

So I've started filling my work wall with pictures. Now I can at least look at my babies and hopefully won't miss them as much - HA. My saddle and tack are in the room here, so it somewhat smells like the tack room and almost like your in the barn. lol. A good smell, if you love horses and leather. Not the other smell. 💩

The farrier was out to do my horse today and while we were talking, we scheduled 8 weeks out.... That came out to like Dec 20th..  Hard to believe Christmas is only like 10 weeks away!  And that's how we ended up with all this Christmas thinking.

I printed up my shopping list.... or should I say sewing list. I had been crocheting Barbie clothes and my granddaughters have been taking them home, so I have more to make for the Barbies that are here. As well as the requested outfits they want me to make for Christmas. Then there's the snuggle blankets, pillows and **** can't say until Christmas.

It's going to be pretty awesome this year. I'm going to be cooking DINNER, so there is a grocery list with lots of hungry peoples coming. We got breakfast,  ham brunch, and the Turkey dinner. Pies, cookies, candy ... We have one rule. There is one four letter word your not allowed to say....

{DIET}

Yep, bring your appetite and eat up! Cause I don't like leftovers.

Of course, Papa Tim is stoked to decorate the house. It's been like 20 years since we've had a house to decorate, And all the kids remember what the old house used to look like in December.

I hope everyone remembers this is ELECTION YEAR for the Presidency.

Is a privilege and a duty.

I pray for our country in this election and I pray for us to use our common sense when we make those selections.

Grama's House ~ The place to call HOME.

Between moving expenses, vet bills and the IRS ~ furniture hasn't happened yet. LOL. Just this weekend, after being in the house a month - the brilliant idea of bringing in the 2 chairs off the front porch as opposed to sitting on the floor came to light.  A toy bench and 150 year old cedar chest complete the deco. Of course 2 cats immediately claimed the 2 chairs, leaving us seatless again.

And it hasn't mattered.

Every Saturday I have my 2 oldest grandsons and great grandson. Sorry no picture, it's a handful with the 3 boys! They romp and play and slide on the floor. Got em wearing socks now!  My one grandson, told my daughter that he wants them to move in with Grama cause the house is so clean and empty. There's lots of room to play.

This past weekend

My son, daughter in law and granddaughter came over Sunday. Got to love it, they have learned to pack a change of clothes as she will be asking to stay. This time, her approach was a classic to remember....

"So now that you guys know how to get to Grama's house yourself, you can just come and get me tomorrow."

I went to my youngest daughters tonight and picked up 2 of the grandkids, we haven't had time together in forever!! Seriously, who needs furniture?

And of course, 'bring your socks!!'  For the sock races.

These are the days that make this new house really feel and sound, like HOME. These are the peeples that matter....

Just an FYI - Papa made the first BIG MESS so none of the grandkids have to worry about being the first one to make a mess in the NEW house.

A little Good News!

 She's going to recover!

We have a new farrier and StarBright likes him. Today wasn't much more than working with her back foot that is lame.

On the good note, the new farrier "George" was able to trim it up and open up the abcess. YUK! Gross... But, for the better. Come to find out she wasn't getting trimmed evenly and that was causing some of the problems....

I always believe everything happens for a reason. And apparently, we needed a new farrier....

My next task will be to get Lil Star ready for her feet done {AGAIN},. Just when I had her doing okay, she was manhandled a bit and her leg got hurt, so it's taking time to get to her feet again.

Polaris is still learning his balance when I lift his feet. Progress, takes time. We pick them up for a few seconds every couple days. He's let me pick his front feet and doesn't fall over while I'm doing it. Next we'll be filing the tips. {Hopefully}

I finally finished putting up the cat walls.....

and hammock ~ Spoiled cats. Crazy looking on the walls I know, just wait until we get the second set up as well. The cats love it.

FOR SALE.... YARD SALE.... We still have a few things we're selling off. The generator, stock tubs and large kennels are gone. That made for quite a bit of room in the driveway. But there is still more.
Now for the vehicles....

Papa loaned his car to our daughter last summer and she was hit by a drunk driver that ran the light.  Her and the kids are okay, they had some soreness and a few bruises. The car.....
Well, The car is paid off and we're awaiting the title now. The state is going to deal with the guy and his bill , so for us, it's time to sell.
The engine and tranny are great and there is a lot of new parts on it. Papa kept it in prime condition.
Currently, It just needs someone that can replace the parts on the corner and you'd have a good running little car again.

Car valued @ $2400.00

My mom was a hoarder, so I don't like hanging onto things that I'm not using or don't plan to use again. Not only is the car for sale, but we are selling the 5th wheel as well. I would really like to get down to what's in the driveway. The trailer is in storage and that is a bill itself each month. The car is at my daughters, and I'm not sure how much longer it can store there. So for me, they got to go!
Book Value AS IS  $6500.00

I have a couple smaller kennels I'm probably just going to put free signs on and put them at the end of the driveway. There is just so much I accumulated while living at the barn. I have a small roll of 4' chicken wire and portable fence posts. 2 metal garbage cans... buckets and more buckets. I've taken some things to the horse trailer and used the compartment to store muck buckets, pitch forks and extra bags of pellets that I still have. There is just so much to go through and sort.

I've downsized my tack. Since the back seat of my truck and half my bedroom closet have become my tack room.. It was necessary to sort through and eliminate things I don't need. Compact the things I need to carry in the truck.

This move has made for many adjustments. I wasn't supposed to have to move the horses or the trailer until spring, so it was a real throw it together pack job. Not to mention the unplanned expenses involved with hauling, storages, and now the lameness of my horse and vet bills.

It's a brand new house. Just built at the beginning of 2020. . . . And we still don't have furniture. LOL. The living room floor is slick from everyone sliding in their socks. It's like the perfect place to play hockey and or have sock races and sliding competitions. There is a couple bar stools so we don't have to eat on the floor. Dresser is build in the master bedroom and we do have beds. So at least the bedrooms are furnished.

Nobody complains, that there is no furniture. There is a washer and dryer, so no more laundrymats. My daughter and the kids come hang out for the day and do their laundry too. {I love it!} The main room is the kitchen, and it is huge with a bonus ~" Mom's " cooking again! My cooking has a reputation of it's own.  As empty as it is, the house feels full and alive. Can't wait til Christmas. We've got the light layout already in the making. . . . . . .  Everyone remembers the 'old house' at Christmas.

There really is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. Truly feeling blessed.

Success!!

I've been doing this my way and getting a lot of criticism and 'how to' advice.  And I've continued to do it my way. .....

Polaris

has been hauled twice, rather than fight and rush him into my trailer. The hauler has a large trailer with a big bright box stall and ramp.  He's just a baby {Yearling} and I want his trailering to be positive. So, we don't rush the idea. We work on loading in my trailer..... but it is a little black dark straight load. And for a horse. It's a monster that is going to eat him!!

I thought I had heard it all until I started getting told the various ways to get my horse in the trailer.

"My way" .... Patience.

We work with the trailer a little everyday.

The results.

Polaris loads himself without a halter into the trailer
and he'll stand in there and wait patiently to be asked to get out.

Now part of me thinks he wants me to take him out of there because he's getting picked on badly by the other horses. Another part of me thinks he's claiming his trailer in front of the other horses. And yet another part. Thinks we just might have done this right!!

And then there's

Lil Star

~ who has remembered a few of her herd bound bad habits. She likes to run off again when you bring out the halter. Kick and buck and curl up her lip.

So it was suggested to me that I carry the halter everytime I go out to her field. Put it on her and do nothing, take it off before I leave for the day. Put it on her sometimes and work with her. Don't put it on her, just have it. .... random, rotations.

It only took a few times and now She pays no attention to the halter and doesn't try to run away when you put it on. She participates willing in her work outs and has returned to her cute little self!!

And boy does she ever protect her big sister.

StarBright

has went lame. Her foot is pretty messed up and I had to have the Vet out Friday. We're looking at 5 days of intense treatment and stalled. At least a couple weeks solid barn rest.

If things are not getting better we're looking at surgery and a lengthy recovery..... Donations for Vet expenses gladly accepted. We spoke today of the 'estimated' costs this could lead too.......

Plus, having them separated ...... I'm concerned about what it'll do to the girls relationship...... herds can be very tempermental. AS it is they call out to each other and make sure that they are all there. It's really beautiful in it's own way.

The Best Advice

When it comes to horses, everyone has their "way" of training or taming. When a 'new' person comes along, advice comes in all shapes and sizes and from all directions. Everyone just wants to help. Sometimes, it's overwhelming. So much advice too fast can cause a person to lose their own confidence.

Just like people, every horse has a personality, and a past. They form relationships with other horses and with people. Sometimes they don't like a person and sometimes they love a person.

The best advice I could give, is listen to all the advice everyone gives you. Take what sounds good and let go of the rest. Trust your own instincts and how your horse responds to you. Your the one that needs to feel confident and safe with him/her. Your the one going to be riding.

I personally, probably have the most untrained trained horse out there. All my horses are allowed to express themselves, yet they are expected to have manners. There's a balance.

A New Routine

That's my 'house' {35' 5th wheel}, movin out of the ole place @ the barn and into a storage facility. I can now say a lot of stress is OUT of my life! I really needed to get away from some of the folks there, as they were making life unpleasant and difficult. They didn't make it much better while trying to move either, but at least now I can say it's done. And they are gone!

Everything is moved. Horses are at a new place too. Not sure if they like it or not?  Not having the chickens and ducks, only the horses, makes it really different. They get to be horses during the day now with other horses!

And I - finally get to enjoy my new house! And start a new routine.......
My day's will be looking different

Of course the celebration starts in the kitchen....
