Car Trouble

It's been a really stressful couple of weeks.

My car has been broke down for over a year. I have finally come up with the funds to fix it, and it's been a challenge. There was several things wrong. So it was a matter of 1 part at a time and fix 1 problem at a time. We still have a couple parts to go and of course no part store carries more than one and I need two of something. That's kind of how this has been going.... so we're waiting on parts delivery for my car.

Meanwhile in the midst of trying to get my car running the car I'm borrowing from my daughter has all but died. It was on it's last leg when she loaned it to me, and I've done the least amount of driving as possible, having as much 'home delivery' as I can get. Not going anywhere unless I had to. Of course that means daily driving.

I have 2 broke down cars in my driveway and both my son in law and my son have spent several nights and days working on them.... I've missed appointments, not been able to take care of my horse everyday and all around been thrown off my 'normal' routine and schedule, which in turn plays hell on the sleeping and eating with all the stress floating around.

I'm hoping today is the day we can at least get 1 of them running soundly. Then I have to work it out with my daughter to get the other one fixed. I really don't know what I would do without my kids. I've tried to be there for them, but lately it's been more of them being there for me.

Funny how that works in life.

Trust Your Pets

Animas are incredibly smarter than people. They dont like mean people! They can smell a bad person long before you see how bad they are. They can also sense a good person even when they look bad. They dont lie about their feelings nor do they pretend.

Do You Really Know?

Chances are if I don't know you, you don't know me.
You may know what you have heard about me, just as I know what I may have heard about you. I'm not one to claim to know 'about' someone, just because I've 'heard' something about them. I'd rather meet them for myself.

My dad used to say, believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see....

We judge people, we accept the headlines and we believe so easily, when it's something negative about someone or something that's happening. The 'truth' doesn't seem to matter.

For the last couple years the news has proven itself to be a leader in falsifying facts. People have been advising others to 'dig deeper' and 'get to the real story'. Don't believe what you see, don't believe what you hear...

How often do you choose to not get to know someone, just because of something you've heard about them. Do you consider your source? Ever try to find out the 'other side of the story'?

We treat people just like we treat information. Too many folks are too easy to believe the 'headlines' without reading the 'story' to get the full 'picture'.. Follow the moment without knowing where it's going...

Question is ~ Do you really know the truth?

Enough of the Cold

 It's January ~

I got caught hanging out with my girl this week. It was such a nice day, It almost felt like spring! I managed to get the mudd brushed off of her, and rake up a portion of her small field. Trying to get the poop out of the way so more grass can grow.

We've had a couple days of snow, we've had the wind storm, we even had an ice storm. Each did a fair amount of damage around the neighborhoods. Now we have the normal rain, and temp's are coming up a bit.

I personally have had enough of the cold and what claims to be 'winter weather'. I'm ready for the spring to spring!

I can tolerate the hot days much better than I can the cold ones! How about you? I also do better with the longer days when we have more light. This dark in the morning and dark by afternoon is really gloomy and hard to get through day after day. That's why you got to take advantage of them bright days when the sun is shining and spend it with your horse!

The holidays are over and most folks have packed up the decorations. We still have a few neighbors holding out with the lights outside. Most of the stores have moved onto Valentines day decorations and chocolates. Probably last years stock they need to move out because this years is coming in .

There is just no break in between holidays anymore.

I wish it was a bit more like the 'good ole days'. The half price sales didn't used to start until the day after the holiday. And the demos and putting up displays were only ever about a month before a holiday. Now they just pile them up one on top of the other and there is nothing 'special' about any of them anymore.

So you might as well do something for yourself !

End-of-Season Sale

Time to treat yourself!

Beautiful Morning

It was an amazing sunrise this morning. I wasn't able to capture the photo, I hope someone did. Stunning. I had to take a minute from work and go outside to admire it. It was a beautiful way to continue the start of the year. Really hoping things get better this year, I'm getting to old to endure all the stress and heartbreak.

This month looks promising, as all 3 boys are getting fixed. All the cats will be fixed after this and hopefully this brings some peace to the herd. Life has been a bit rough on the older ones with the 3 young boys hitting their prime. A peaceful summer with lazy cats would be nice! Perhaps my house plants will survive this year.

Having 3 kittens doesn't do well for plants!

Medically I have bad news to face. Doctor called test results were not so good so I have to go in and talk about what's next. Appointment isn't until February so I'm trying not to think about it all. Just taking them meds!

Papa had a rough year in 2022, and the medical bills are stacked pretty high. He's felt better over the holidays with a lot of rest and he gets his vacation time soon, so he'll be able to keep resting without the financial stress of missing work on FMLA. Hopefully we'll get some of those bills out of his way.

It's been nice only having one horse. I get to spend time with her, and we actually get to be together. Rather than me feeling guilty about leaving someone behind,. Still on the hunt for the trailer I want. Of course I need to find a truck or SUV to pull it as well.

It's the beginning of a new Year and there are renewed amounts of  energy in the air  and hope for better things to come. I hope your holidays were merry and bright! May the new year bring great things to come for all.
