You can't outgive God

When I was very young, I advanced in school to be the youngest person in my grade. This brought about challenges of its own. 'Bullying' they call it now, then you were told you were being too sensitive or a crybaby, if you 'couldn't handle it'.

One. day I had it pretty rough and when I got home, I expressed that I wanted to go back 'to where I belonged' - I didn't want to be 'smart' anymore. My mother sat me down and told me something that has stuck with me throughout my life.

Not everything that happens to you, is about you. Sometimes its not because you did something wrong ~ or right. Sometimes, it happens to you because someone else is struggling and needs to see how to get through it. By watching you, it lights a path for them. When things go wrong it doesn't always mean God is punishing us. Sometimes it's God teaching us and building our strength spiritually.

Too often when things go bad, people 'blame God' and when things are good, they pat themselves on the back. It amazes me how many people don't acknowledge or 'believe' in God, yet when disasters happen or it's an emergency ~ they call out to God and ask for prayers. When the situation passes, they go back to 'living' their lives without God.

God's not a genie; you can't just rub the bottle and make a wish.
God is a spirit and you have to build a relationship with Him, through His son Jesus.

The last few years have been challenging. More often than not, my life goes through trials of 'fire'. Struggling to make ends meet has been a regular occurrence, yet we have gotten through to brighter days. Something I've said often when the path was dark and there was no obvious solution was to say ~ God knows my heart and God knows the need. Answers would come and something would happen to resolve the problem.

God knows my heart. Regardless of what people think, say or do ~ they don't know the real me and they don't know my heart. I have always been more concerned with what God thinks of me, over what people say about me.

People have commented that I must have 'pissed God off' to be going through some of the things that happened. I personally think it was the devil 'pissed' because he couldn't turn my heart away from God. I always think of Job when I'm going through hard times. Job's story is one to hold on too. Reflect on and he was an amazing example to follow.

It's been just a few months over a year now since I sat alone in my truck with my cats and dog - freezing in temperatures 27 degrees and lower. Lost everything - house, 'stuff' income - friends, family.. And then God brought some of the family and other people into my life that gave me a lift up and blessed my life tremendously.

I am home now, and everything I have lost has been replaced with better. I wake up every day grateful to be alive, in a warm house with plenty of food. I no longer have financial struggles. My income is secure for the rest of my life. Even when I have 'down' days. With my health, that is a regular occurrence as well.

I can't keep up with the blessings and miracles that have been happening every day! I try my best to pay back those that have helped and every time God does something to bless my life even more.

The only thing left is for my family to be healed. I pray every day for those that are lost. I pray for hearts to heal. Even that has had improvements. Some family members that had their own struggles have had some victories as well. You might say we're on 'top of the world' in some ways. Growing stronger together.

Just goes to show you, You can't outgive God.

Being a Cheerful Giver

It's especially hard to give when you are broke and or struggling financially. BUT It isn't always about money. Giving a helping hand can be just as valuable to the receiving party. Sharing a meal and giving your time to listen and encourage - are all ways we can give to others.

Paying it forward is always a blessing. You may not be able to 'pay back' those that have helped you, but you can pay it forward when you are given the opportunity. Again, it isn't always about money.

A few years ago, I needed an attorney for a court case. I was able to pay my down payment in cash but wasn't able to pay off the balance. Instead, I was given a job to do the landscaping at the law firm. Working off the balance. Just so you know, I had an awesome attorney.

When you lend someone a few bucks to help them along, don't expect to be repaid. If you do get paid back, great, if not - don't let a few bucks destroy a good relationship. Think of it as a gift when you're giving it and you won't have that 'ripped off' feeling as time passes.

Don't always expect to get paid for work that you do helping a friend or neighbor. Again, consider it 'gifting your time'.

You will find yourself a whole lot happier if you are not tallying debts, especially over the little things. Consider it charity and give with a happy heart.

Karma is one of God's tools in this life.

And what you give will come back to you, perhaps in other ways.

Be a cheerful giver and you will have a richer life.

Welcome to the Family Charlie

The newest member of the family, meet Charlie. Born November 7th, Adopted March 12th. Chanelle finally has her own puppy. The shelter said he was part Chihuahua. We were able to see his mom, he's as big as she is. And she only had 4 puppies, so I'm guessing a bigger dog got to her. Poor thing. We will do a DNA test later on and see what breeds he is. For now - he's just a puppy we love.

Peaceful

The following clip is found on Google ~
search for peace is being alone

Being alone offers a profound sense of peace, serving as a restorative escape from the world's demands rather than a state of loneliness. This intentional solitude allows for mental clarity, self-reflection, and creative, uninterrupted time to recharge. It is a, "sacred pause" where one can truly be themselves.

Restoration & Creativity: It provides a necessary break to recharge, which can boost creativity and improve overall mental health.

  • Self-Discovery: Solitude fosters self-awareness and helps you understand your own feelings, hopes, and ideas without outside influence.
  • Intention over Isolation: It is not about being lonely, but about choosing a quiet, peaceful, and productive environment for yourself.

The Problem with Social Security

Every time you call the number for Social Security, you get a different person. Half of them don't speak English clear enough to understand. A third of the time the connection becomes static and you can't hear or they can't hear you. Not to mention it doesn't matter what time of day or what day of the week or what part of the month, you sit on hold for an hour to an hour and a half. Going in for an appointment is usually scheduled weeks out. Walk ins wait all day and hope to be seen.

I believe they should have a specific representative for each person. And there should be an email for the representative. So much could be done more efficiently and in a timely manner.

It took 27 months to get approved and now so far it's been 6 weeks waiting for back pay. First, they say 3-5 days, then it's 5-7 days then 10 days. On the last call we finally got an agent that went above and beyond and consulted with a technical advisor to help him write up a report to hopefully fix the problem whatever it happens to be. Only set back on that is now it's a 20 day wait.!!

My dad used to say the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and boy does it feel like it now.
