When we don't get what we asked for, we assume God doesn't answer prayers. God 'didn't' hear us, or God doesn't care. When it comes to God, it seems we can't take NO for an answer.
Some people go through life living for themselves, some even deny there is a God. But then when things go terribly wrong, they start asking 'Why is God letting this happen?'
When they don't get the answer they want to a prayer, they blame God for the bad things happening in their lives. Tragedy, death of a loved one, long term illness.
We don't always acknowledge that as real as God is, the devil is just as real. We seem to forget we were given 'free will' in whom we would serve. Sometimes bad things happen to those who are devoted servants of God. The story of Job is a prime example of bad things happening to good people. Saul/Paul is a great story of how a bad person can become the good.
Everything happens for a reason. Only God knows in many cases. The story of the blind man that Jesus healed. When asked ~ the man and his family were good people, believed in God, so 'why was he cursed with blindness?' Jesus stated that so the blessing could happen at that time, as part of His purpose fulfilled.
Sometimes things happen to one person, for the sole purpose of being an example for another. As a good parent you often tell your children NO. Do they always understand your reason? NO. But as a good parent, you are trying to do what is best for them. As an adult, you know things from your own witness experience growing up. So you are trying to protect them. Often from mistakes to be made.
And yet, as much as you say NO. They have their own free will and some will go ahead and do it against your better judgement.
God answers prayers. He just doesn't always say yes.
Blessed by God
